A downloadable game for Windows

Magitopia is a slow-paced, casual farming game that can be picked up at any time, by anyone.

In this game, you live on the isle of Ool, where it is rumored that an ancient dragon slumbers. Your goal is to awaken the dragon and bring rain back to the island. The dragon can only be summoned with its favourite food, a rare and expensive golden dragon fruit. But the seed of this fruit is difficult to obtain, and will require you to make a lot of money before you can afford it.

So get to brewing! With the plants that grow on the isle and the ones you plant, you can brew potions to sell to make your money. As you make money, more expensive ingredients become available, so invest wisely to be able to afford that dragonfruit seed, and bring the dragon Ool back.

Fellow uni student here, I saw your game on the playtest section of the server so I tested it. I think it has a lot of potential, the premise looks nice! though I can offer some constructive criticism. Try adding a tutorial or some NPCs to help players understand the mechanics, and try to limit how the bed can be used because it can be exploited by spam-pressing the button to sleep to speed up crop growth. And there are some bugs or other nitpicky features which should be fixed:

  • If the player's walking animation plays when you open an interface or pause the game, they will continue to play their walking animation until the game is unpaused.
  • The crops in the garden have square collision hitboxes which are bigger than their models, while planting seeds has no trouble they may be annoying to navigate since you may bump into them.
  • Near the house's entrance there is a blade of grass on the side that has its texture clipping through the wall, it is visible when you exit from the doorway.
  • If you position the camera behind the rock where the fishing dock (screenshot below) at a certain angle, parts of the terrain's model will change but its hitbox remains the same. It's a very precise angle and by crossing it the terrain will toggle.
  • There are buggy lines on some parts of the map that are visible when it's afternoon. They appear in some areas such as the walls near the bedroom and a certain tree in the forest (screenshots below)

Anyway, that's just my feedback. Good luck on developing your game, it's looking great so far and I can't wait to see what's next!
